Ron Reflections: Travel Medical Coverage & Airport Lounges

Lifestyle Benefits Life

Updated: Aug 15, 2020

My name is Ron Melton and I am one of the founders of Lifestyle Benefits Club.

Over the coming months I will share information about our program and my travels domestically and internationally. I'd like to invite all of our members to send in your favorite travel stories along with pictures so we can share them with other members.

I just returned from my latest jaunt to Europe. I will share more about some of the cities I have visited, including London, Stockholm, Prague, Kiev, and Moscow, etc. in future blogs along with pictures and my personal recommendations for things to do and places to stay, but today I wanted to focus on some of the benefits you can obtain through Lifestyle Benefits Club, particularly on two of our affiliate member programs: Trawick International and Priority Pass.

Ron highly recommends Travel Medical Insurance when traveling abroad!

Not only am I a member of Lifestyle Benefits Club, but I utilize all of the benefits and affiliates we recommend. One of those affiliate programs is Trawick International: a supplemental option for medical coverage to any member traveling international. I use Trawick International for my International Medical Insurance whenever I travel internationally. Luckily, I did not need any medical attention while traveling this time, but travel medical insurance it is something I would never travel abroad without. One of the things that really impressed me about Trawick is their lack of age limitations: anyone can get coverage. They have a variety of various plans at very affordable costs to cover all your possible medical needs and coverage can be purchased for everyone traveling on the same itinerary. What about costs though? Right? Often medical insurance for travel can be very expensive. I was SO IMPRESSED by the costs from Trawick International: the coverage through Trawick provided five times the medical coverage at seventy percent of the cost from a good program that I had previously used for years. That's amazing: five times the coverage at seventy percent of the cost! It provides such peace of mind to know that you are covered in the event of a medical issue or a trip to the emergency room in another country.

I have also benefited from Priority Pass which I have used more than 9 times this year to utilize their airport lounges in Amsterdam, Dublin, London, Stockholm, Paris and Kiev internationally as well as Indianapolis, Los Angeles and New York domestically. Lounges provide an oasis away from the hub-bub of the airport with comfortable seating usually provide complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and light snacks such as fruit, cheese, soup, pastries and breakfast items, flight information monitors, televisions, newspapers and magazines, business centers with desks, internet workstations, charging stations, photocopiers and fax services, generally with complimentary wireless Internet access. Occasionally, lounges can offer more luxurious amenities, including showers, nap suites and even fitness centers. There are different plan options available, and because I travel quite a bit, I opted for a standard plus plan with Priority Pass which saves me $32 per visit. Already this year, I have benefited by $288 through this option alone! It also gives me the option to take guests in with me at a discounted cost, which is such a great benefit to pass along to friends and family traveling with me! For our members, there is an initial savings of 10-25%, depending on the plan picked, and then the regular savings of free or less expensive fees into the lounges themselves: if you travel around 10 times a year, the total savings ends up being around 70%. Priority Pass has over 1300 lounges world wide and they are adding more every day. It has made lay-overs so much easier and relaxing. I definitely recommend this to anyone who has ever felt weary when traveling!

Below are a few pictures from some of the lounges around the world to give you an idea of how comfortable and accommodating they can be:

Please share your stories, pictures and recommendations with us by emailing them to marketing@lifestylebenefits.com for a chance to be featured on the blog. We would love to hear about your experiences when traveling. We will be rewarding our fellow member authors with extra goodies!

Happy traveling everyone!
